Ritual has been an integral part of human life since antiquity, and its significance and influence on humanity cannot be overstated. While religious ritual was often dismissed by modern scholarship as a mere social phenomenon with no inherent power in itself, in postmodernity, it appears that the benefits of ritual performance has been rediscovered anew.
